Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday night shot at and critically injured a youth in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources told Srinagar based newsgathering agency Global News Service that gunmen appeared outside the residence of Mohammad Ayoub Lone in Thak Gund village of Dangiwacha around 9:30 pm Wednesday and fired shots at his son Tayamur-ul-Ayoub, injuring him seriously. The injured youth, said to be pursuing his MA from Kashmir University was immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment.
“However, the doctors there refereed him to Bone and Joint hospital Srinagar for further treatment,” sources said.
Soon after the attack, army’s 22 RR and SOG cordoned off the village and launched manhunt to nab the attackers.
