APHC (M) Chairperson Mirwaiz  Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq  reiterated that the political resolution of Palestine and Kashmir continue to be a threat to global peace and it is the responsibility  of the world community including  the  Muslim countries  to address  these issues to get them resolved.

Speaking during a conference at SKICC Srinagar on the eve of 26th Death Anniversary of the ‘Founder of Islamic Resolution of Iran’ Imam Khomeni (RA) attended by the likes of Aga Hassan Al Safvi Moussawi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Former Speaker of Iranian Parliament Nataak Noori , Iranian Ambassador to India Ghulam Raza Ansari  and others.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq observed that  Imam Khomeni (RA) was the “iconic symbol of resistance” in the muslim world, who brought the people of  Iran “out of the clutches of dictatorship and oppression”. Mirwaiz while appreciating the support of Imam Khomeni (RA) with reference to Kashmir issue urged upon the present Iranian Leadership to exert diplomatic pressure on Indian government to solve Kashmir issue according to aspirations of Kashmiri masses.

According to an amalgam statement, paying glowing tributes to Imam Khomeni (RA), Mirwaiz stressed that both Iran and Pakistan  have to provide guidance and play a key role in resolving the issues faced by 1.5 Billion Muslims of World.

He also welcomed the statement of General Raheel Sharif in which he has called  for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and kashmir,appreciating that a military general has called for a peaceful solution to the problem rather than a military resolution. Mirwaiz asked the  Govt of India to shun its obstinacy and regressive approach to the kashmir issue and adopt the path of dialogue among all stake holders for its resolution.
