“Will defy house arrest today at 12:30 and try to march towards Islamabad as per the programme of JRL to show solidarity with the people of South Kashmir who continue to bear the severe brunt of occupation”, he tweeted.

As he stepped out, Mirwaiz was not allowed by the authorities.

He tweeted again “Not allowed, arrested by the shameful ruling regime, spoke to Media just before arrest.”

Speaking to Media, Mirwaiz said ” we had peaceful programme but to thwart that curfew has been imposed. If they claim to believe in democracy, don’t we have right to express our ideas”
