Hurriyat Conference (m) Chairperson Umar Farooq Saturday called for a complete shutdown on 12th April 2016 Tuesday against the “ever growing” incidents of harassment, bullying and victimization of Kashmiri students studying in various different states of India.

Mirwaiz said it seems that the right wing extremist elements in India are hell bent to take away the right of the Kashmiri students of their education and force them out of the institutions by bodily assaulting them and harassing them. He said it was a serious concern for the entire people of Kashmir. “It was the moral and legal responsibility of the concerned state governments and the government of India to ensure the safety and security of the Kashmiri students.”

Earlier reacting to the “attacks on life” carried by “communal elements and fascist forces” on the Kashmiri students studying in Engineering and Technology College Jammu and Dental College Jodhpur, Rajasthan following the situation arising in NIT Srinagar, APHC spokesman Saturday condemned these attacks and expressed grave concern over the safety of Kashmir students.

Cautioning that if the Kashmiri students studying outside the state were not given adequate protection or their careers damaged, the spokesperson said then it would have serious repercussions for which the government of India would be responsible.
