Expressing serious concern over the “cold blooded custodial murder” of two youth namely Khalid Wani and Yousuf Ganai at Kamal forests Tral, South Kashmir by the army, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Tuesday stated that till black laws like AFSPA continue to remain in force in Kashmir, the army and other forces under its shield would continue to kill innocent people and in this way carry out their anti people activities.

Mirwaiz also denounced the “high handedness and extreme use” of force by police and army on the protesters who were protesting against the custodial killing of two youth in the area.

“The innocent killings and injuring of other people deflates the claims of Delhi and its local affiliates who repeatedly state that peace is returning to Kashmir,” Mirwaiz said in a statement.

Mirwaiz said both youth, who were killed under custody, were well educated, unarmed and innocent, adding, labelling them as militants was just to cover the criminal act of men in uniform.

He said AFSPA like black laws have given impunity to government forces to kill people at will.

“The way innocent boys were murdered under the dispensation of PDP BJP coalition, unveils the evil designs of both these parties against the Kashmiris,” he said.

Appealing people to observe complete strike in Pulwama district on April 15 and stage valley wide protest demonstrations across Kashmir against the incident on coming Friday, Mirwaiz also asked the international rights organizations to play their role in persuading Indian establishment to stop oppression and killing of innocent Kashmiris.

Expressing concern over the continuous detention of two youth Waseem Ahmad Trag and Parvaiz Ahmad with army and police in connection with the custodial killing incident, Mirwaiz said the Hurriyat’s legal cell has filed a petition with the concerned organizations to try to ensure the safety of person of the two youth under custody.
