SRINAGAR

Condemning the action of forces during which nocturnal raids were carried out to “arrest large number of youth” in Old City of Srinagar, Hurriyat Conference (m) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday said that forces were “orchestrating state sponsored terrorism by carrying out such arrests which has turned the lives of locals miserable”.

“The oppression of government forces has crossed all limits which has terrorized the population,” he said.

Mirwaiz termed these actions as “fascist and cruel”. “Brutal suppressive measures were being used against the Hurriyat leadership, activists and youth of Kashmir.”

He further said, “these tactics, however, were not going to deter the people or leadership of Kashmir.”

Paying glowing tributes to Kashmir’s prominent socio-political personality of South Kashmir Shaheed Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmad on his martyrdom anniversary, APHC-m Chairperson said, “such tragic assassinations had left an indelible mark on the psyche of the people, adding, the bloodshed of scholars, reformers and religious figures in the Valley was a collective loss of entire Kashmiri nation.”

Meanwhile, an APHC-m spokesperson strongly condemned the continuous arrest of senior amalgam leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza at Police Station Sherbagh Islamabad.
