SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condoled the death of legal luminary, eminent writer, and great scholar on Kashmir, Mr. A.G. Noorani, who passed away in Mumbai today.
Mirwaiz Umar said that he had a close personal relationship with the deceased, who had often advised him on political and legal matters. He described Noorani as a sincere person, forthright in his opinions.
Mirwaiz added that Noorani was a true friend and supporter of the people of JK and had a deep, critical understanding of the Kashmir issue. He said that with Noorani’s passing, Kashmir has lost a great advocate of its aspirations.
Mirwaiz prayed for the magfirah (forgiveness) of the deceased and a place for him in Jannah (Paradise).
