Hurriyat (m) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday termed the goverment package meant for rehabilitation of flood victims as an “eyewash”

Speaking at a cheque dustribution ceremony in Islamabad district of South Kashmir , the pro freedom leader said that even after one year people were craving for relief.

“Government has miserably failed to provide relief to the victims of deluge,” he said.

Miwaiz also distributed cheques among victims of last year’s devastating floods.

“We took an initiative today and extended a helping hand to the flood victims of Kulgam and Islamabad flood victims.”

As many as 106 affected families were provided with relief cheques during a function at Islamia School in Islamabad. He also announed Rs 5 lakh support for repairing a mosque in Bijebahara and paid a cheque of Rs 2 lakh on the spot.
