Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has greeted the Muslims of the world in general and of Jammu and Kashmir in particular on the beginning of New Year of Hijri Calendar-1439.

As per an official statement, Mirwaiz has said the first month of Islamic Calendar Muharram reminds the “believers to have self introspection of all their deeds and dealings and make corrections in themselves so as to get close to the path of Allah and his apostle Prophet Muhammad (SAW).”

Mirwaiz said one should worship individually as well as participate in the congregational prayers to seek blessings of Allah in Muharram and throughout the year.

Mirwaiz has also said, “Given the countless difficulties being faced by the Muslims across the globe including the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Muharram provides us the great opportunity to learn from the history of Islam and sacrifice of Hazrat Hussain (AS) to stick to the path of righteousness and justice come what may.”
