Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF cheif, Yasin Malik Thursday afternoon reached the residence of Hurriyat patriarch, Syed Ali Geelani at his Hyderpora residence.
A Hurriyat (g) spokesperson said that the resistance leaders are likely to address a joint press conference after the meeting.
Eyewitnesses said that as soon as Mirwaiz and Malik were seen approaching Geelani’s residence dozens of people assembled and raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
They said that police at the gate of Geelani’s residence did not allow Mirwaiz and Malik to enter, however after couple of minutes Geelani himself came out to receive the two.
According to sources close to the pro-freedom camp, Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik will have a closed door meeting to chalk out ‘a joint strategy’ in the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha by-elections in central and south Kashmir.
