SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Hurriyat Conference, paid heartfelt tributes to Hazrat Amir Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamadani (RA) on the occasion of his annual Urs, honouring his enduring legacy as a spiritual, social and economic reformer of Kashmir.
In a post on social media platform X, Mirwaiz described the 14th-century saint, popularly known as Shah-e-Hamadan, as “the great saint, scholar and reformer to whom we are indebted forever.” He acknowledged the transformative role played by Shah-e-Hamadan in shaping the religious, cultural, and economic fabric of the Valley. “The light of Islam that he brought continues to illuminate our land and beyond. Our deepest gratitude,” the Mirwaiz posted.
Mirwaiz also extended warm greetings to the Kashmiri Pandit community on the occasion of Mela Kheer Bhawani, a significant annual religious event observed at the historic shrine of Ragnya Devi in Tulmulla, Ganderbal. “Today also marks Mela Kheer Bhawani and we extend our best wishes to our Kashmiri Pandith brethren on this occasion,” he said.
