SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday formally opened an art gallery of Mustaq Mir in Barzulla, Srinagar, and praised the artist’s perseverance in continuing his work while battling cancer for nearly a decade.
In a post on X, Mirwaiz said he had the opportunity to see Mir’s work at the gallery and described the artist’s journey as an inspiring example of courage and perseverance.
He particularly praised Mir’s Islamic calligraphy, describing it as a reflection of his talent, dedication and devotion.
“Despite battling cancer for nearly a decade, he has continued to pursue his passion for art,” Mirwaiz said.
He also prayed for Mir’s complete recovery and good health, expressing hope that the artist would continue to inspire others through his work.
