Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged Iran to use its good offices for the resolution of Kashmir issue at an earliest.

Speaking at function organized on 26th anniversary of Imam Khoumeni (RA), Hurriyat (M) chairman said that Iran is a country which has good and cordial relations with both India and Pakistan; therefore the country should make efforts for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir through dialogue.

He added that in present day world, conflicts are not addressed by suppressing peoples’ aspirations and dissent but by holding meaningful dialogue to address the root cause. Mirwaiz said that Imam Khoumeni (RA) strived for the unity in the Muslim world and revealed to entire globe that not only the men in suits can deliver but also people who uphold the Islamic values in their lives.

Iranian ambassador Ali Raza Ansari while speaking on the occasion didn’t ‘touch any political issue’ but said Iran has cultural links with Kashmir and same shall be fostered further.

He remarked that as Kashmir is known in the world as Iran-e-Sageer, cultural links between the two countries must be strengthen so that in future Iran and Kashmir could look forward to witness more people to people contact.

Retd Justice Kirmani  said that Imam Khoumeni (RA) was the practical example of Islamic values and teaching and that became the only reason why the entire nation of Iran obeyed and followed his directions for the century’s most vital revolution.  He maintained that once in any nation, aspiration to struggle on basis of principles evolve, no  power can stop it from witnessing the horizons of success.
