A school teacher reported missing a fortnight ago has been found dead in the Batamarg forests near Dolipora village of Trehgam area in District Kupwara on Tuesday morning, police said.
The body has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Dolipora Trehgam who worked as teacher at Army Goodwill School Trehgam. He was missing since May 27.
A police team led by SHO Trehgam rushed to the forests to recover the body for investigation. “It will take couple of hours for police to get the body to Trehgam as the spot where the body has been found is at the top of hilly forests,” SSP Kupwara told Kashmir Life over phone. “We will divulge more details once post mortem of the body is completed.”
The district police chief had no idea about the cause of death. However, he said the body is reportedly decomposed.
