In yet another surprising move, MLA Langate, and president Awmni Ittihad Party (AIP), Er Rashid on Monday, unlocked two CAPD Stores and distributed food grains among the villager himself in his constituency.

The inhabitants of Pothwara, Reshwari and adjoining hamlets in Langate constituency were without food grains since last three weeks.

“Though the concerned MLA had brought the matter in the notice of concerned Minister and higher authorities but it couldn’t resolve the problem of inhabitants of area. However, department had sent some quantity of rice to the store of the area some five days back but was not being distributed due to some unknown reasons which had forced villagers to suffer with starvation,” a statement of AIP said.

Taking note of the sufferings of the villagers, MLA Langate on Monday, made a sudden visit to the two Ration Ghats of the area and unlocked the store in presence of village Panchayat and distributed the available ration by acting like a ‘Ghat Munshi’ throughout the day.

“State government has miserably failed and nobody cares about problems of common masses. Since there are three cabinet ministers hailing from Kupwara District, who often make useless visits to their constituencies for petty vote bank politics and keep the district administration hostage which makes people to suffer,” Er Rashid said on the occasion.

He however said that AIP will not allow these white collar VIPs including “Mantaries and Babus” to “suck the blood of those whom they rule”.
