SRINAGAR: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has authorised a 24-hour suspension of mobile internet services within a four-kilometre radius of the Janpath–Kartavya Path crossing in New Delhi, effective from 10 pm on Friday, October 9, until 10 pm on Saturday, October 10.
The restriction will apply to mobile internet services across all technologies within the specified area, according to an official order dated October 9, 2026.
The Union Home Secretary approved the suspension under Rule 3(1) of the Telecommunications (Temporary Suspension of Services) Rules, 2024, read with Section 20(2)(b) of the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
The order directs the authorities concerned to take the necessary measures to enforce the restriction immediately.
