SRINAGAR: The BJP has submitted a list of star campaigners for the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda, and several Union Ministers.

The submission is mandatory under the Representation of People’s Act 1951. Prime Minister Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is set to hold rallies for BJP candidates in the UT.

Other prominent campaigners include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, and Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath, Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar are also listed.

The BJP has announced candidates for Udhampur-Doda and Jammu-Reasi constituencies but is yet to finalize candidates for Anantnag-Poonch-Rajouri, Srinagar, and Baramulla seats.

The BJP J-K unit chief Ravinder Raina is speculated to be a frontrunner for the Anantnag-Poonch-Rajouri seat.

The elections will be held in five phases, starting from April 19 for Udhampur-Doda and concluding on May 20 for Baramulla.
