According to a statement issued to KNS Speaking on the occasion, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said the death of Molvi is a great loss to the party. Describing Molvi as a friend in adversity, Mufti said his departure not only serves a blow to the party but also deprives the political scene of the state of the services of a tall and outstanding leader. Mufti said Molvi was friend on whom he counted for advice and support and he felt a vacuum created by his departure. He, however, expressed confidence that Molvi Imran Raza Ansari and other members of the family would carry forward the legacy of Molvi and continue their services towards the community and society at large.

Expressing her condolences in a chocked voice the party president, Mehbooba Mufti said Molvi more than a political leader and respected colleague was an elder of her family. She said we feel equally bereaved by Molvi Sahib’s death as Molvi Imran Raza Ansari and other members in his family feel the grief over the loss. She said Molvi was an important factor in the rise and expansion of the party who generated hope among the cadres and was a source of great energy for everybody who worked with him.

A special Fateh was also offered at the meeting which was led by the party Chief Spokesperson, Naeem Akhtar.

Others who spoke on the occasion to pay tributes to Molvi and convey their solidarity with his family include, Tariq Hameed Karra,MP; Nizamudin Bhat, MLA; Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, state secretary.

Later, all those present in the meeting, under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, went to Molvi Sahib’s residence at Qamarwari. They offered fateh and conveyed the party’s solidarity with the bereaved family especially Molvi Imran Raza Ansari and Molvi Irfan Raza Ansari— the sons of the late leader and Molvi Aabid Ansari, Dr Amjad Ansari— his two brothers and rest of the family.

The party president, Mehbooba Mufti also visited the Darul Jawwad residence of Ansaris at Qamarwari to be with the mother and wife of Molvi and other ladies of the household in this hour of grief.

Meanwhile, an unending stream of mourners continued to visit Molvi Sahib’s residence throughout the day.  People from all walks of life, friends and followers of Molvi in large numbers visited the family to share their grief.
