Police in North Kashmir’s Kalaros area on Wednesday seized more than 100 quintals of ration from the officials of CAPD which was meant for the free distribution to the flood affected people.
According to KNS correspondent, police after receiving a complaint about the misappropriation of ration in the area, swung into action and seized the ration from the depot.
The ration which was sanctioned for the free distribution to the flood affected people of the region was frequently dumped by the CAPD officials.
Confirming the incident, Additional Director Food, Shouab Noor told KNS that two officials of the department were found involved in the scam and action has been initiated against them. He added that the supervisor of the depot has been attached to the direction office while as the store keeper has been suspended with immediate action.
Meanwhile, reports informed that people from Keeran Kupwara also complain about the similar misappropriation of the ration in their areas and appealed the government to take immediate action in this regar
