The meeting took detailed view of the fast emerging developments on social, political, and sectarian levels in Kashmir besides taking stock of political situation across the Muslim world.

Expressing serious concern over the emerging worrisome situation in the Muslim world, the participants stated the Muslims across the globe were one single entity. They stated that anti-Islam powers were making every effort to divide and sub divide Muslim Ummah, adding, such moves could be resisted only if Muslims would rise above their political and sectarian differences and create a united muslim Ummah based on the concept of Tawheed.

Terming any effort to spread sectarian divide in Jammu and Kashmir as unacceptable, the participants said that Kashmiris have always maintained inter-sectarian bonhomie for ages. They stated that the challenges posed by the cultural and political aggression in current times could be resisted if Kashmiries maintain their historical tradition of sectarian unity and present themselves as one single Muslim entity.

Speaking on the occasion Ameer MMU, Mirwaiz said that due to uncertain political situation, flood and natural disasters Majlis could not keep up with its tradition of holding meetings and gatherings to discuss various issues on MMU forum. He, however, said the role played by religious leaders and religious organization in providing succor and rehabilitation to the needy was exemplary, adding, it was not only commendable but it also shows the seriousness, sense of responsibility and expression of sensitivity of religious bodies towards the Muslim Ummah and humanity at large in times of need.

While expressing his thanks to Ulemas and Imams for attending the meeting, Mirwaiz said the presence of religious leaders belonging to different schools of thought in the meeting itself depicts that how much serious we were towards issues facing by Kashmiris and Ummah.

With regard to the return of pandits the ulemas Categorically rejected the idea of separate townships for the migrant pandits. They said   that Pandits were and are  an important part of Kashmir’s inclusive culture and  separate residences for them will only add to their isolation will  stroke communal passion and polarisation in the region thereby leading to hatred and mistrust among communities.

Expressing serious concern over the current situation prevailing in the muslim world, Mirwaiz appealed the rulers of Muslim countries to rise above their country and regional interests and play their role in ending the conflicts and work towards muslim unity for the sake of Islam.

Categorically rejecting separate townships for the migrant Kashmiri pandits, Mirwaiz stated that Pandits were an important part of Kashmir’s inclusive culture and the separate townships would only add to their isolation and would stoke communal fire in the territory thereby tearing apart communal peace.

Welcoming the migrant Pandits back to their own native places, Mirwaiz stated that  history testifies that Kashmiris have always maintained communal bonhomie. He said that Muslims have always provided security to the religious sites of minority community, adding, even today nobody looks at their religious places with disrespect. He said that religious leaders in Kashmir have always imparted education to the majority community to safeguard minority property and their religious places.

Terming the statements of communal parties like RSS, BJP, VHP and others as inhuman, against the norms of morality and full of religious prejudice as extremely provocative, Mirwaiz stated that such parties using the government of puppet chief minister and some muslim organizations were promoting the agenda of Communal divide in Kashmir and every ploy was being used to change the cultural political and geographical character of Kashmir.

In such a scenario, Mirwaiz said all the pro freedom leaders and parties along with religious organizations and Ulamas have to play their role on all fronts to defeat such designs promoted by the right wing communal parties.

Talking about the situation in the valley, mirwaiz said one of key reasons that warranted  holding of the emergency  meeting was coming to the fore of the grave issue of the Rashtriya Swamsavak Sanghs  (RSS )having  become heavily active in Kashmir .Mirwaiz said that it is a  highly disturbing fact that the RSS is using its auxiliary Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) and allied groups such as the Daryaganj-based Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind and a network of NGOs between 20 to 30, to spread its influence and agenda in the Kashmir Valley. Mirwaiz said that In pursuit of its well-known agenda on Kashmir, the RSS  has a long-term interest in fracturing the Kashmiri society, preventing a cohesive Kashmiri voice and creating confusion and discord within the society. He said that the fact that it is using religious groups from India and also NGO’s providing relief ,is concerning because it indicates an attempt to change the social, religious and cultural ethos of Kashmir .He said that in this context it is incumbent upon all ulemas ,khateebs religious organisations and the like to make the public aware of this ploy and ask them to be on guard against it.   Mirwaiz  asked the pdp govt to come clear on whether it has entered into an agreement in this regard with the bjp in the common minimum programme
