SRINAGAR: A woman was killed while her son sustained injuries after the scooty they were travelling on skidded off the road in Amerbugh area of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
An official said the woman was riding pillion on the scooty being driven by her son when the vehicle skidded off the road at Amerbugh.
The woman, identified as Saja Banoo, wife of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo of Kharwara, sustained critical injuries in the accident and died on the spot, the official said.
Her son, Shakeel Ahmad Naikoo, also sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
