A hapless mother from Apple town Sopore in North Kashmir Wednesday appealed Director General of Police to help her tracing abducted daughter who according to her was abducted by two goons on 2 January this year.

“Police Post Fruit Mandi Sopore instead of extending a helping hand is giving me a tough time. Even after the expiry of over 4 months, police have not initiating action against the two abductors,” Tasleema Bano told CNS and named the abductors as Waseem Najar and Qasim Najar.

Tasleema Bano a resident of Eidgah Mohalla Nopora Sopore said her daughter has been repeatedly calling the family requesting them to save her from the abductors who have confined her somewhere in New Delhi. She has been calling on cell numbers 9910197858, 7531054119. “When my son Ishfaq Ahmed approached police post fruit mandi Sopore to lodge a complaint, the police instead of registering complaint lodged him in lock up for two days on the charges of assaulting some family members of abductors,” she said adding that ‘inaction and callous’ attitude from fruit mandi chowki officer has compelled her to visit Press Enclave Srinagar.

“The abductors actually hail from Batapora Sopore and recently they bought a house in our area. They used to harass my minor daughter while two days before her abduction, she had filed a complained against the abductors before the then SSP Sopore,” Tasleema Bano said and appealed Police Chief to look into the matter.

Superintendent of Police Sopore Harmeet Singh told CNS that he will look into the matter.
