SRINAGAR: A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the Kalai area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The accident took place near Kalai on the road between Khanetar and Kalai, where an unidentified vehicle struck the motorcycle. The rider sustained fatal injuries and died at the spot, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Mehmood Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief, a resident of Khanetar, Poonch.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to identify and trace the vehicle involved in the accident.
