SRINAGAR

Paying rich tributes to Mahajr-e-Millat late Mirwaiz Moulvi Yousuf Shah (R.A) on his 47th death anniversary for his commitment towards movement, politics, society and religion in Kashmir, APHC (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday vowed to continue his mission till the lasting and permanent solution of Kashmir issue.

The death anniversary of Mahajr-e-Millat was observed across the Line of Control. In this connection the biggest congregation was held at historic Aali Masjid, Eidgah Srinagar.

In his inaugural address at Aali Masjid, Mirwaiz stated the contributions of Mahajr-e-Millat regarding the movement, religion and politics were unmatchable.

He stated that it was his commitment and resolve towards the cause that Mahajr-e-Millat preferred to live away from his home in poverty, but did not budge an inch from his political stand. “The sacrifices of the late Mirwaiz and lakhs of other people was priceless asset with the Kashmiri nation. The sacrifices united the whole nation so as to fight for right to self determination which is continuing even today.”

Throwing light on Jang-e-Badar, Mirwaiz stated that blood of innocent Muslims was being spilled everywhere in the world. “In Gaza, Muslims were subjected to bloodshed and barbarism.  Muslims were suffering since they have forgotten their glorious past and were trying to live like “others”. Unlike past, Muslims were not handful, but a substantial population of the world, adding, despite that Muslims were suffering and facing the brutality of the world,” he said.

Terming the silence of Muslim world over the Gaza genocide as a matter of concern, Mirwaiz stated that may it be Palestine or Kashmir, world community has always exhibited double standards. He stated that both Kashmir and Palestine have been constant source of instability in South Asia and Middle East, but the world community and UN as well have failed to fulfill their responsibilities in that regard. As a result, Mirwaiz stated that countries like India and Israel obstinate and doing whatever possible to oppress the oppressed people.
