SRINAGAR: National Conference Member of Parliament, Mian Altaf Ahmad, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in the Reasi and Ramban districts of Jammu, following devastating landslides and a cloudburst.
In a statement issued today, Mian Altaf lamented that at least eleven people have lost their lives due to these natural calamities, including seven family members in Mahore, Reasi, who were killed by landslides triggered by heavy rainfall. The cloudburst in Ramban has claimed the lives of four more individuals.
“I am deeply pained by the landslide in Mahore, which claimed the lives of seven members of a poor family, as well as the four lives lost in Ramban due to the cloudburst,” Mian Altaf said. “My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving families, and I pray for the safety of those still missing.”
The MP urged the government to take immediate action to provide relief to the affected families. He called for proper arrangements to be made for victims and emphasised the urgent need for assistance in the wake of these devastating natural disasters.
