Additional Sessions Judge Doda, KS Parihar Tuesday directed Senior Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Organization Jammu to submit the status of FIR 15/2011 also known as infamous Ganpat Bridge, Pul Doda Scam registered against 8 persons including Dilip Thusu, the then General Manager J&K Project Construction Corporation limited (JKPCC) presently Secretary J&K State Sports Council.

The application was filed by RTI activist and vice president National Conference Doda unit Dr Rehamatullah Khora through Advocate Imtiyaz Hashmi seeking a direction to the SSP VOJ to submit a status report of infamous multi crore Ganpat Bridge Scam and also requested the Doda court to monitor the investigation of the said scam till the filing of the challan against the accused.

As per a local news agency, CNS, in the application, the complainant has submitted that the accused are highly influential and politically well connected and are generating pressure upon SVO Jammu to close the case.

It is further submitted that despite the expiry of more than 2 years there is no headway in the investigation as the accused are trying to derail the investigation process so that they are screened of the allegations.

The complainant has submitted that the accused indulged in corruption and abuse of their official positions and awarded contract to a contractor M/S AK Constructions without observing the codal formalities.

The complainant alleged that Dilip Thussu the then General Manager J&K Project Construction Corporation limited played a vital role in this multi-crore scam and the said accused is highly influential and occupying a responsible position in JKPCC and he is generating huge pressure for getting a clean chit in the matter.

It is further submitted that in order to ensure the fairness in the investigation and to instill the confidence of the people in rule of law the investigation of this scam needs to be monitored till the charge sheet is filed in the competent court of law.

After hearing Advocate Imtiyaz Hashmi appearing for the complainant the Additional Sessions Judge Doda, K.S.Parihar directed SSP VOJ to submit the status of the investigation on or before the next date of hearing that is Oct 31.

Pertinently, in Ganpat Bridge, Pul Doda Scam FIR stands lodged against 8 accused which included Dilip Thusu, the then General Manager JKPCC limited, Muhammad Subhan Najar MD JKPCC limited, Nazir Ahmed Shah Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, MM Sharma Chief Engineer R&B Jammu, VK Sharma DGM JKPCC limited, SK Sethi DGM JKPCC limited, Gopal Sharma Assistant Engineer JKPCC limited and Anil Kumar Sharma proprietor M/S AK Constructions limited.
