“Time has come for the disintegration of this party as the father and daughter in the party has hijacked its agenda and are acting as autocrats and dictators,” Khan told a local news agency, CNS, adding that he was feeling suffocation in the party.
Murtaza Khan said that he joined Congress party after the people whom he represents asked him to do so. “I represent the aspirations of the people in the region and they were not satisfied with the PDP as they felt that party was not taking their leader (Murtaza Khan) seriously,” he said.

He said that he has aligned himself with the Congress party to fulfill the aspirations of his supporters. “I don’t believe in monkey business. I have joined Congress now and I will act as a committed worker of the party,” he told CNS.

Without naming Mufi Muhammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, Murtaza Khan came down heavily on them and said that father and daughter is not providing any space to other party leaders and they have no say in decision making processes.
“You would yourself see how leaders will leave this party in coming days and the party would disintegrate like pack of cards.

He criticized those leaders who claim that Congress party did not take them into confidence and made their names public. “How could the names of Goni and Balbir Singh would reach on the desk of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi without consulting them. I fail to understand why they have taken U turn now,” he said.
