SRINAGAR

The chief patron of National Panthers party, Prof Bhim Singh, has demanded for the release of all detenus detained under Public Safety Act in J&K. He regretted, “Last traces of democracy were destroyed by NC-Congress government in the past five years and hundreds of innocent boys have been put in jails without trial which is negation of rule of law and democracy.”

While addressing media in Srinagar, NPP chief urged the state Governor, NN Vohra to exercise his constitutional authority and set at liberty all detenus so that they can join their families on Eid. Prof Bhim Singh said that it is shocking that “the government of J&K has invoked PSA against students, minors and youth under the pretext of stone-throwing which is not acceptable in the eyes of law.”

NPP Chief and Member of National Integration Council also extended his heartful Eid Greetings to the people of J&K, Muslim brethren in the rest of the country and everywhere in the world expressed hope that the Eid shall bring back last traces of democracy and rule of law in J&K and bring peace particularly in the Middle-East which has been facing wrath of Anglo-American Bloc.

Prof Bhim Singh also demanded that the ‘Darbar Move’ exercise should be stopped. Only the files pertaining to Jammu Pradesh shifted from Srinagar whereas the files pertaining to Kashmir province should be retained in the Srinagar Secretariat. He said that Rs 600 crores spent every year in the exercise of ‘Darbar Move’ should be given to the employment board so that all the newly recruited employees shall get their full salaries. To a question, the NPP Supremo said that he is not in favour of increase of salaries of the legislators unless all the employees and newly recruits are brought at par.

Prof. Bhim Singh also met Khalida Shah, President, Awami National Conference Tuesday morning over a breakfast meeting in Srinagar.

Prof. Bhim Singh told the media that Dr Kamal Mustafa, the youngest son of Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah had agreed with him that the Civil Secretariats should function at both the places around the year as it has been done in the working of the High Court of J&K. Prof. Bhim Singh said that Dr. Kamal Mustafa also agreed that he shall support the issue of delimitation of the Assembly Constituencies without any delay so far as rotation of the reserved seats and geographical readjustment of the constituencies is concerned.
