Thousands of people on Sunday participated in the multiple-funeral prayers of slain civilians South Kashmir parts.

Despite the ban on internet and amid restrictions, several thousand people poured onto streets as the body of slain civilians were lifted the scenes were poignant amid the chanting of pro-freedom slogans, hailing the “martyr’s.”

Reports said that five rounds of funeral prayers were held for the slain student Zubair Ahmad Negroo at Rajpora area of district Pulwama.

Sources said that three rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain teen Nisar Ahmad Kumar at Arhial village in district Pulwama.

Sources added that two rounds of funeral prayers were held for Mohammad Asif Mir in which thousands of people participated.

Reports said that Woman sang eulogies “Asalam Asalam Ae sheedo Asalam Aaj aap ki Maut par ro raha hai aasmaan, ro raha hai yeh Zameen, wala myani shahedo, bochh ma lajee (come my martyr, you might be hungry).”

Scores of men and women wept bitterly as the bodies were being carried towards its final resting places.

Five civilians and five militants, including Saddam Padder and Assistant Professor, turned militant Dr Mohammad Rafi Bhat, were killed in a gunfight with the government forces in district Shopian on Sunday.
