Mumbai police has stated the “mysterious” death of Parvez Ahmad Teli, in Mumabi as “accidental” and has registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile, J&K Police is deputing an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) along with another officer to verify firsthand account regarding the death of Pervez Ahmad Teli  son of  Mohammad Sultan Teli, resident of Qalamdanpora Nawabazar Srinagar. A police statement said on Monday, adding the team so deputed shall verify all the facts of the case.

Meanwhile, J&K police has received a communication from Mumbai Police which states, “ DCP  Pravin Patil has personally verified witness statements and has reported that a missing report was registered on July 8, evening at Dahisar Police Station and during enquiry it has revealed that on July, 6 of the instant month the deceased has sought help and was given help by local Borivali Muslim boys.”

“This matter according to these witnesses was not reported at any police station,” Mumbai police communication said.

According to the police statement Doctor Rajesh Wandara who treated him had asked him to go to Bhagavati Hospital for treatment and Medico Legal certificate (MLC) but Pervez had declined. He had orally narrated that someone had assaulted and robbed him but he wanted to go to cousins. Pervez boarded Churchgate bound local train that night.

The statement added that further enquiries have revealed that Pervez was found in injured condition on railway track near Elphinstone Station. He was admitted to KEM hospital where he was declared dead on July 9, 2013 evening.

“Accidental death report no. 88/2013 is registered at Mumbai Central Railway Police Station,” Mumbai police communication said.

Police said that the team deputed by Kashmir Police shall get in touch with concerned Police and other witnesses and will cull out the factual details and circumstances leading to the death of Pervez Ahmad Teli.
