Heavy stone pelting erupted in uptown Hyderpora area after body of slain youth, Owais Bashir Malik son of Bashir Ahmad of Pirbagh, was found early Thursday.
Witnesses said that the body was found on the railway track near Humhama area. He had gone missing under mysterious circumstances two days ago.
Intense clashes were reported from Humhama chowk as youth and forces are engaged in intense battle. The locals from the area alleged that forces have damaged window panes of their houses.
The area is observing shutdown with people alleging that the youth was murdered.
Reports said that Owais left his home on Tuesday around 5 PM but didn’t return. “His phone was on till he reached Rawalpora,” the mourners were quoted as having said.
Meanwhile, J&K Police spokesperson told Kashmir Life that a murder case under RPC sec 302 has been registered and investigation has been started.
