In the backdrop of Musharraf’s 4 Point Formula, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chief Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday said that the former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf had assured him of demilitarising Pakistan-administered Kashmir in case India would have agreed on giving right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir.

Geelani said this while addressing a press conference at his Hyderpora residence here.

“India always complains of Pakistan not willing to demilitarise Kashmir,” Geelani said. “However Musharraf himself promised me of demilitarising PaK.”

“But the betrayal from India has always stalled the progress viz-a-viz Kashmir issue.”

Geelani reiterated that the whole state of Jammu and Kashmir including Gilgit Baltistan, AJK, Ladakh is a disputed territory and “no power can divide the state”.
