The mysterious braid cutting incidents for the continuous last three days at Gathi Morh village, some 20 kms away from Bhaderwah in Doda district, has spread scare in the picturesque valley with the police and the state administration appealing people to remain vigilant and maintain calm.
Police have said they would soon solve the mystery as they are working on “different theories”.
The latest and the third incident was reported from rural area of Mistra Gathi Morh today (Friday) evening.
Meenu Devi 39, wife of Rajesh Kumar of village Misrata Gathi Morh, Bhaderwah said that her hair was chopped off mysteriously in the evening around 4 pm. She said that somebody cut off her hair while she was working outside his house. “I fell unconscious after the incident. When I regained consciousness, I found myself lying on the floor and my braid was chopped off.”
Earlier, two more ladies’ braid was found cut mysteriously. Some villagers of Gathi Morh told Kashmir Life that women’s braids are being chopped off mysteriously and said a cat-like animal appears and makes females unconscious. “It then chops off their braids and disappears.”
The villagers claim that ghosts are behind it.
Police have initiated investigation and sent the sample of hair to forensic science laboratory for examination.
