Baffling bloodletting continues in restive Sopore barely 36 hours after a shopkeeper was killed by unknown gunmen in Bomai Sopore on Friday evening.

On Sunday, unidentified gunmen struck again in Sopore by killing Mairaj ul din Dar son of Mohammad Ahsan Dar, near his shop at Badami Bagh Sopore.

After shot twice, Dar was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased—a former militant running a poultry farm, was the father of two little daughters.

The killing happened when the Baramulla district is observing shutdown against the killing of Altaf ul Rahman, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat member, shot dead early this week.

Sunday’s killing took the death toll to five in Sopore since a telecom operator was shot death inside BSNL showroom.
