SRINAGAR

The PDP-BJP coalition government Sunday showed a stark red signal to the separatist seminar meant to deconstruct and resist the “growing saffronization” in state.

The seminar was scheduled to be held at the headquarters of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) near Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s Hyderpora residence.

Police on Sunday had blocked the main road leading to Geelani’s residence and thus preventing people to participate in the seminar.

One-day seminar titled “How to Resist RSS Agenda” was expected to receive participation of a number of Sikh, Christian and other community leader, including Simrenjit Singh Mann (Akali Dal leader), Kanwarpal Singh (Dal Khalsa leader), Gautam Navlakha (noted human rights activist) and others.

As per the sources, Navlakha including Sikh leaders were arrested from a hotel in Srinagar.
