Minister of Education, Naeem Akhtar, Saturday expressed grief on the demise of veteran educationist, poet and writer Prof Ghulam Nabi Firaq.

According to spokesman, Akhtar termed the demise of Firaq as a major loss to Kashmir’s literary and education scene. While recalling his days at SP College, Akhtar said that Firaq has remained his teacher and his teachings still hold a special place in his heart and also among thousands of other students.

He said Firaq’s death has left a huge void in the society which is difficult to fill. He prayed to the Almighty to grant the deceased highest place in paradise and courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
