Three families had a narrow escape after a landslide hit their house in a village of Budgam district in central Kashmir on Thursday, police said.
An official said that the landslide occurred when a 300ft hillock caved in and almost buried houses in Chairhara village.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Muhammad Harun Malik said that a team headed by SDM Beerwah has been framed to find out the reasons behind the landslide.
He said the team comprises DFO Soil Conservation Department and a senior official of Agriculture department.
“They would also investigate if fault line passes through the area,” he said. (CNS)
