The party elections held at National Conference headquarter Nawa-e-Subh on Tuesday unanimously elected Nasir Aslam Wani as the Provincial President of National Conference for Kashmir Province.

According to the KNS correspondent, no other party leader filed the nomination papers for the post of Provincial President against Wani, hence the later got elected sans competition.

Speaking at the occasion Nasir while thanking the delegates and the workers of National Conference, retreated that NC will emerge as a single largest party in the forthcoming polls in the state.

Nasir maintained further that the party has strengthened itself at the grass root levels in the state and that the efforts of the leadership must be to maintain calibre and selflessness. “The need of the hour is to safeguard the interests of the party at every level and not to get divided at any cost.”

Newly elected provincial president observed further that NC has become the symbol of democracy and steadfastness not only in Kashmir but across India and the belief of the party in the democratic principles has made people to accept its representative character with zeal and zest.

“There could be the difference of opinions and it is common in the democratic set up but at the end of the day what gets counted is the triumph and emergence of the representative character across the state,” said Nasir , adding that NC will sweep the forth coming polls with ‘thumping’ majority.

Senior NC leaders including additional general secretary Mustafa Kamal, Parliament member Sharief-ud-din Shariq , YNC leaders Salman Sagar, Younis Mubarak, Imran Nabi besides others were also presnt on the occasion.

Meanwhile, MLA Zadibal Peer Afaq has been re-elected as Srinagar Distrcit President.
