National Conference Tuesday expressed grief and sorrow over the death of two youth in Handwara due to firing by the Security Forces and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah, while expressing grief and sorrow have also conveyed their solidarity to the families of the two youth and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, NC Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Senior Leaders and Former Ministers Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mir Saifullah and MLC Qaiser Jamsheed Lone and former MP Sharif-ud-din Shariq while condemning the heart-rending incident conveyed their solidarity with the families of the deceased youth in this hour of grief and loss.

Two youths – Nayeem Ahmad and Muhammad Iqbal – died after government forces reportedly opened fire on locals demonstrating against an alleged molestation in Handwara.

National Conference leaders said the onus was on the State Government and the Chief Minister to ensure the truth comes to fore without any delay or adulteration and the guilty are brought to the book.
