Handwara Killings: ‘Save Kashmiris from this Jungle Raj,’ JeI asks Intl Bodies

Handwara Killings

Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) J&K Tuesday denounced the brutal and gruesome killing of two innocent youths in Handwara during indiscriminate firing on peaceful protestors assembled against the molestation of some women by some unruly army personnel.

“The Indian forces have let loose a reign of terror in Kashmir valley against the innocent people so as to create a sense of intimidation in them. So far, thousands of innocent Kashmiri Muslims have been brutally murdered by the Indian forces for protesting against the state terrorism and molestation of the women folk,” a statement issued by JeI said this evening.

“The innocent people here are living under a constant threat to their life, dignity and property at the hands of the Indian forces deployed with the unbridled powers and authority given to them by various inhuman laws including AFSPA etc and the puppet governments have utterly failed to protect these human rights of the hapless people despite tall claims,” the statement said.

The statement added, Jama’at-e-Islami strongly condemns this “brutality of the Indian army” in Handwara against the unarmed peaceful protestors and appeals the international community particularly the human rights bodies to come forward and “save the people of Kashmir from this jungle raj of India which is occupying this land by dint of force alone”, ignoring the genuine demand of the Right to Self Determination promised to them by the Indian establishment through the Security Council of the United Nations.
