Jammu Kashmir National Front General Secretary Advocate Hilal Ahmad has strongly reacted to the opening of “fabricated cases” against National Front Chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan and other activists by the state.
In a statement issued here, the spokesman said that such nerve twisting tactics to suppress and eliminate dissent is self –defeating as instead of eliminating dissent it only reinforces the resolve of the people to carry forward the movement for righteous cause.
“The current regime seems to be hell bent on reopening false cases against resistance leaders and activists to suppress their voice of dissent in view of the forthcoming elections so that nobody can stop them from carrying out the macabre business of manipulating the public”, the General Secretary said in a statement issued here.
“But all these tactics can only boomerang and strengthen the voice of resistance to the illegitimate political and military control of Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
Advocate Hilal hailed the resolve and contribution of Nayeem Ahmad Khan to the on-going political struggle based on the universally accepted principles of justice and freedom and right to self-determination.
“It is the principled stand of Mr Khan and in fact the Kashmiri nation as a whole that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and India’s presence in the state of Jammu and Kashmir is forcible, illegitimate and illegal. If demanding right to self determination is a crime, then Nayeem Khan has committed this crime since his childhood and is determined to continue to do so. If standing by truth and the repressed people is a crime , he will commit it again and again”, he said.
“Govt’s suppressive tactics have not in the past nor are they going to make him and other resistance leaders and cadres to capitulate before the colonial regime with its unified command”, he added
