Top LeT commander Naveed Jatt is one among the two slain militants killed during a gunfight in  Chatergam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

Official sources said that two militants were killed and Top Lashkar-e- Toiba Commander is one among the two slain militants.

While confirming the news police spokesman said: “#Budgam encounter update: Among the two #terrorists killed, one is identified as #Naveed Jatt alias Hanzallah affiliated with proscribed #terror outfit LeT. @JmuKmrPolice.”

The encounter began on Wednesday early morning after a joint team of army’s 50RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Chatergam. So far, two militants have been killed and encounter is going on.

However, the identity of other slain militant is yet to be ascertained.

IGP Kashmir, S P Pani had earlier said Jatt led the 3-member group that killed veteran journalist Shujaat Bukhari.
