The train services across Kashmir remained closed on second consecutive day today for  “precautionary measures”.

According to an official, all the trains have been suspended in the Kashmir valley. Therefore, he said, no train will chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, trains will also not run on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he said.

Earlier, two militants were killed and three army men were injured after a gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Chatergam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday early morning.

Following the encounter, authorities have also suspended the internet services in Budgam district.
