Welcoming Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s raising of Kashmir issue in the United Nations General Assembly, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah said the Pak premier fulfilled his responsibility vis-à-vis Kashmir issue.

“Kashmir is an international dispute acknowledged by United Nations itself, for which 18 resolutions stand witness in UN Security Council,” Shah said, adding India’s stubborn attitude cannot change the disputed status of Kashmir issue.

Shah said both Congress Party and Narendra Modi led BJP government are hell bent upon keeping Kashmiris subjugated in every respect. “India has forcibly annexed Kashmir in 1947 and we will continue our freedom movement till any political solution to this issue is not found,” he said.

According to a statement issued to KNS Shabir Ahmad Shah, along with his relief team, today visited south Kashmir’s flood affected areas of Lalhar, Manigam, Bandargam, Reshipora, Sathar and Kakapora. The people there complained about the non-availability of government announced relief and said it was all due to the valor and bravery of youth who lend their helping hands in this hour of crisis.

Shah said the devastation caused by floods could be met with international aid but India’s unsympathetic attitude towards Kashmir is the biggest impediment in this way.
