SRINAGAR: Joginder Kumar, 45, a resident of Abtal Katalan village in the Ramgarh sector of Samba, lost his life in a blast in Gariaband district on Friday. The incident occurred after the second phase of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh when a polling team, escorted by security personnel, was returning after conducting voting.

Hundreds of villagers came together at the residence of Head Constable Joginder Kumar, an ITBP jawan who lost his life in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh.

Expressing both sorrow and pride, Dileep Singh, Kumar’s father, and a retired Army personnel, said, “I am sad about the passing away of my son, but at the same time, I am also proud that he laid down his life in the service of the nation.” Kumar’s family has a strong background in security forces, with his father and elder brother retiring from the Army and two younger siblings currently serving in the ITBP and CISF.
