National Conference (NC) while condemning the reported loss of lives in an incident of firing involving army in Chattergam has asked the ECI to order an immediate, time-bound and transparent probe into this incident resulting in the death of two individuals and injuries to two others or authorize the State Government to order an immediate probe.
According to spokesman, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that since the Model Code of Conduct is in effect due to the electoral process in the State, National Conference appeals to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to announce a time-bound probe into this incident or allow the State Government to probe this incident and take suitable and just action based on the findings of such an investigation.
