National Conference Friday congratulated Greater Kashmir Editor-in-Chief Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo on being elected as the President of the Kashmir Editors’ Guild.

In a statement issued here, a spokesperson of NC said Fayaz Kaloo’s contribution in institutionalizing journalism in the state was exemplary and would set the tone for growth and qualitative evolution in journalism for decades to come.

While congratulating Fayaz Kaloo on behalf of the party, a spokesperson of NC said, he was sure that under his presidency of the Editors’ Guild, journalism in the state would be strengthened further to uphold the ever-sacred values of objectivity, courage and fairness – values that the journalistic fraternity in the state has always enshrined in its work.

The NC spokesperson also congratulated Chief Editor of Kashmir Images, Bashir Manzar and Editor Chattan Tahir Mohiuddin on their appointment as Vice Presidents of the Kashmir Editors’ Guild and said their contributions in reflecting truth amid a din of noise and distortion had steered the narrative on crucial issues towards realism and clarity.

Mattu also congratulated Masood Hussain, Editor Kashmir Life, Haroon Rashid Shah, Executive Editor Nidai-e-Mashriq and Shafat Kira, Editor, Kashmir Vision for being elected as Secretary General, Organizer-cum-Treasurer and spokesperson of the Guild respectively and said the stalwarts of journalism in the state uniting in common efforts and goals aimed at strengthening the fourth-estate was a heartening development and would auger well for the state.
