As per a party statement at a specially convened meeting of the newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly in Jammu this afternoon, Ali Mohammed Sagar proposed the name of Omar Devender Singh Rana seconded it.
“The members endorsed the candidature of Omar unanimously,” the statement said.
On being elected as the Leader of Legislature Party, Omar according to the statement was profusely garlanded and greeted by the members.
The statement added that Mian Altaf Ahmed was elected as Chief Whip of the Legislature Party.
