National Conference held a road show from Surus to Gund in Kangan Sunday where thousands of NC supporters and workers pledged to support Omar Abdullah’s vision of transparency, good-governance and nation-building.

National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar and Senior NC Leader, sitting MLA and candidate from Kangan Assembly constituency addressed the road-show at various places and spoke at a massive election rally at the culmination of the road-show in Gund, Kangan.

Sagar said that NC has received the support of the public at every crucial juncture in the history of the State and shares a time-tested bond of trust with the people. “PDP has emerged to be a disruptive, negative political machination against the people of J&K founded by covert agencies. Their politics is based on lies and deception and their rhetoric today is aimed at erasing Mufti Sayeed’s brutal and blood-soaked past as the dreaded Home Minister of India. Today PDP talks of being an alternative while it has given mandates to ration thieves, rice bag thieves, urea thieves, dreaded ex-SOG officers, numerous retired and indicted corrupt bureaucrats and black-money operators who have made millions out of illegal activities and through dozens of scams. PDP wants to drown J&K in a sea of corruption again as it did between 2002 and 2008 and has gathered all thieves and corruption specialists under one umbrella for this very purpose. PDP is trying to get into a position where they can completely abrogate Article 370 and this is not surprising as it was none other than Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who played a very important role in eroding Article 370 between 1953 and 1975,” Sagar said.

He said that NC would emerge victorious in the coming elections and would continue to safeguard Article 370 and the interests of the people of the State from the ‘evil designs’ of those who aim to weaken the State internally at the behest of covert agencies. The NC General Secretary lauded the exemplary role played by Mian Altaf in representing the people of Kangan and for working with utmost dedication for their upliftment and prosperity and appealed the people of Kangan to ensure Altaf’s victory from Kangan with a historic margin.

Speaking on the occasion, Mian Altaf thanked the people of Kangan for reiterating their support for National Conference by turning out in such high numbers today. Mian Altaf lashed out at PDP for being invested in trying to fool and mislead the people of J&K by raising hollow slogans to only contradict them and eventually abandon them. “What happened to PDP’s ‘healing touch’ and ‘self rule’ slogans? They abandoned their ‘self rule’ document as if it never existed while they converted their ‘healing touch’ into a killing touch policy when Mufti Sayeed lorded over the targeted killings of those Hizbul Mujahideen commanders who had agreed to come to the negotiation table during the government of Dr. Farooq Abdullah. It is none other than Mufti Sayeed who is responsible for numerous genocides and massacres in the history of Kashmir and it is him who is majorly responsible for sending thousands of our youth to their graves. No matter how much PDP denies Mufti Sayeed’s history or tries to distract public attention from it, the party will pay dearly for its contradictions and lies” Mian Altaf said.

He said that PDP had promised two jobs per household in 2002 before coming to power but ended up not only not fulfilling that poll promise but rubbed salts on the wounds of our youth by removing thousands of daily-wagers and casual-laborers from their jobs, rendering their unemployed and miserable. Mian Altaf also lashed out at PDP for setting the State on fire in 2008 by transferring 800 kanals of forest land to the Shrine Board in 2008. “PDP orchestrated the 2008 betrayal with the people of J&K to suit BJP’s ambitions to polarize the State for electoral gains and it is solely because of PDP’s 2008  activities and treacherous role that BJP found a political foothold in the State” Mian Altaf said.

He said that NC would emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections and emerge as the single largest party in the State yet again based on the tremendous amount of developmental work done by the Omar Abdullah Government and on the bed-rock of a glorious history full of sacrifices rendered by National Conference and its leaders for the people of J&K.
