SRINAGAR: The Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has issued a three-line whip to all its legislators, directing them to ensure full attendance and adherence to party directions during the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for October 24, 2025.
According to the order issued by the party’s Chief Whip, Mubarik Gul, on October 23, all JKNC members in the Legislative Assembly have been instructed to remain present in the House on the day of polling, cast their votes in favour of the party’s official candidates, and refrain from abstaining or voting in any manner contrary to the party’s decision.
The directive underscores the party’s effort to maintain unity and discipline among its legislators ahead of the crucial Upper House elections. Any deviation from the whip’s instructions is likely to attract disciplinary action under the anti-defection provisions.
The Rajya Sabha elections, slated for Thursday, are expected to be closely contested, with both regional and national parties working to secure maximum representation from the Union Territory.
